Germany manager Joachim Low is in 'pole position' to replace Zinedine Zidane at Real Madrid this summer, according to Spanish newspaper AS.
Zidane finds himself under pressure at the Bernabeu after Sunday's last-gasp defeat by Barcelona, a result which left Real second in La Liga with a game in hand.
The Spanish giants face city rivals Atletico Madrid in the Champions League semi-finals, with Zidane likely to leave his role if the club fail to win a trophy this season.
Low is well liked by club president Florentino Perez, although next year's World Cup may complicate matters.
The 57-year-old, who led Germany to the semi-finals of Euro 2016, remains extremely committed to his country and may not be willing to give up the chance to defend the trophy he won in Brazil in 2014.
AS claim that the 3-2 Clasico defeat has damaged Zidane's reputation among club chiefs and that finishing the campaign without silverware could see him sacked.
Reaching the Champions League final in Cardiff is also seen as 'imperative' by Real's directors as they look to defend their crown following victory in Milan last year. - Daily Mail
